He demanded to plug his AC into my generator during a blackout. I handed him an empty gas can instea

A summer storm knocked out our neighborhood's grid. I ran my small gas generator just to keep my refrigerator cold so our food wouldn't spoil. My neighbor walked over holding a thick orange extension cord. "Plug this in for my window AC unit," he demanded casually. "My house is boiling." "I'm conserving fuel," I declined politely. "I checked the LocalAll app, and gas is only $3.50 down the main road," he scoffed arrogantly. "Stop being so cheap." I smiled brightly at him. "That's great news!" I replied. I handed him an empty plastic jerrycan from my garage. "Since the gas is so cheap, you can walk the two miles to that station, buy the fuel yourself, and I'll let you plug in." He glared at me, completely trapped by his own logic, and walked back to his dark house.

She ran a cord to my outdoor outlet for her RV. My single click left her sweating in 90-degree heat.

During a massive summer heatwave, I noticed an industrial extension cord plugged into my patio outlet, snaking over the fence to my neighbor's luxury RV. I knocked on her door. "Oh, the LocalAll app says generator gas is too expensive right now," she waved me off. "I'm just using a little electricity to run my RV's roof air conditioner. Don't be unneighborly." She expected me to fund her luxury camping in my driveway! I didn't argue. I walked to my basement electrical panel and simply flipped the breaker switch for the patio outlet. Two hours later, I saw her stumble out of the metal RV, drenched in sweat and gasping for air in the 90-degree sun, realizing her free breeze had been permanently permanently shut off.
