Donald Trump’s administration just kicked off the largest tariff refund in U.S. history, and businesses are about to get $166 billion back. Starting at 8 p.m. ET on April 20, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will open the first phase of a new claims system, letting importers file for refunds on tariffs that the Supreme Court ruled were illegally imposed. According to Fox Business, the refunds stem from a February Supreme Court decision that struck down the legal basis for Trump’s tariffs. The court found that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, the law Trump used to justify the duties, didn’t actually give the president authority to impose tariffs. That power, the justices said, belongs to Congress. Lower courts quickly followed up, ordering the government to reverse the policy and refund the money, plus interest. Now, the numbers are staggering. Court filings show over 330,000 importers paid duties on more than 53 million shipments, adding up to about $166 billion. That’s not just a big check; it’s a massive shift in trade policy, and businesses are scrambling to get their money back. Companies can file refund requests through the Automated Commercial Environment portal Refund requests can be filed using

Speculation swirled Tuesday as the Trump administration offered conflicting accounts of Vice President JD Vance’s whereabouts, with President Donald Trump saying he had already left for Pakistan for peace talks with Iran, only for the White House to later contradict him. Early Tuesday morning, Trump told The New York Post that Vance was “heading over now” to Islamabad, Pakistan, for a second round of negotiations with Iranian officials in an attempt to bring about an end to the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran. Citing unnamed sources, Axios published a similar report, claiming that Vance was “exp...

Pennsylvania Democrats are reluctant to support Sen. John Fetterman , D-Pa., for re-election, according to a new report. Punchbowl News spoke to several Pennsylvania congressional members on Monday about whether they’d be willing to endorse Fetterman for another term in 2028 despite the backlash he’s been facing for opposing the Democratic Party. “Want a sense of how tenuous Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-Pa.) position is with Pennsylvania Democrats? Not a single Pennsylvania House Democrat in the delegation will say Fetterman should run for re-election as a Democrat,” the report said. Though the House members did not explicitly reject the idea of Fetterman running again, they avoided answering whether they believed Fetterman should seek a second term as a Democrat, often focusing instead on the 2026 midterm elections. “My focus right now is on 2026, but I would just say I’d be very surprised if he ran in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate,” Rep. Brendan Boyle said. Michael Goodwin: Sen. Chris Murphy is cheering for America’s enemies as Dems spew lies about Trump, Israel Rep. Buried beneath an ancient volcanic crater on the Nevada Oregon border sits an enormous deposit of lithium rich clay. Scientists now think this quiet landscape may hold enough lithium to influence the global battery market for decades. A new study argues that McDermitt caldera may host about 20 to 40 million metric tons of lithium, likely the largest deposit yet identified. Using the recent United States’ average contract price for lithium carbonate, about 37,000 dollars per ton, that estimate comes out to be nearly $1.5 trillion. Supervolcano full of lithium The deposit sits inside a caldera, a large volcanic crater formed when a magma chamber collapses. This particular basin spans roughly 28 miles north to south and 22 miles east to west along the Nevada Oregon line. Work on this deposit was led by Thomas R. Benson, PhD, at Lithium Americas Corporation ( LAC ). His research focuses on how lithium rich minerals form in volcanic terrains. About 16 million years ago, a huge eruption emptied much of the magma chamber beneath this area. That outburst left behind thick sheets of hot ash that later cooled into hard volcanic rock on the caldera floor. Later, the crater held a long

Medicare has delayed a program for older Americans that would've required participating insurance companies to cover GLP-1 weight loss drugs such as Novo Nordisk's Wegovy and Eli Lilly's Zepbound . That doesn't mean Medicare enrollees will go without these popular weight-loss drugs . Medicare will offer GLP-1 weight-loss drugs through a bridge program from July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2027, a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) spokesperson said. The bridge program will allow enrollees in Medicare, the federal health program for adults 65 and older, to get weight-loss drugs at prices negotiated under President Donald Trump's most favored nation agreements with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. Medicare enrollees will pay a $50 monthly copay to get the medications, according to Lilly and Nordisk officials. The change will allow Medicare beneficiaries access to certain GLP-1 medications "outside of the Medicare Part D benefit coverage and payment flow," CMS said. The change came after multiple insurers expressed concerns about the voluntary BALANCE (Better Approaches to Lifestyle and Nutrition for Comprehensive Health) program that would've required Part D insurers to cover the medications. Insurers had until April 20 to commit to the program. CVS Health, which owns Aetna, said it
