Southern Living's 8 best lake towns list includes 2 in Georgia

Southern Living asked real estate agents about the best lake towns to live in year-round with two in Georgia. Where? What is the housing market like?
Georgia's lake towns will get plenty of visitors this summer. But, there are many who live by these waters every day. Which ones are the best to call home?
Last week, Southern Living released a list of the top lake towns in the South to live in based on reviews by real estate agents across the region.

Two Georgia spots made the list. The first was Greensboro, centered around Lake Oconee. Jessica Robinson from Family Nest North Central Florida said "Greensboro provides a more luxurious lake experience where people can enjoy the small-town atmosphere as well as the many championship golf courses located there....The historic downtown offers many amazing local coffee shops and antique shops that I love spending the afternoon shopping in."
The second is Clayton, located within driving distance of Lake Burton, Lake Rabun, Seed Lake, and Tallulah Falls Lake. Mountain Sotheby's International Realty advisor Sarah Gillespie said "The waterfront home inventory includes everything from board-and-batten older cottages to modern mansions" and the downtown features "a mix of outdoor adventure combined with boutiques, restaurants, and ample amenities for full-time living."
