The spring housing market is waking up-- what to know before looking for a home in the marketInterview with Jeanette Schneider, president of RE/MAX of southeastern Michigan

Throughout the spring, the housing market began to see more buyers and more interested.
The numbers reveal a trend.
RE/MAX of Southeastern Michigan says home sales in April jumped 15% from March. From February to April, that number is up to 32%.
The average price for a home in southeastern Michigan is more than 3.5% higher than last year at $319,000.
Homes are now selling faster, spending an average of 31 days on the market. Last year, the average was 39 days.
Following the trend, pending sales are also up.
Numbers are up, but supply is down.
Sales are down nearly 4% from last year because of inventory and affordability.
There are not enough homes on the market for those who want to buy, and prices are still rising.
Jeanette Schneider, president of RE/MAX of Southeastern Michigan, joined Local 4 Live to help us better understand what’s happening in the market and what you should do.
